A bicycle touring trip from Florida to California across the southern and desert states of the USA in April/May 2022

The first week of cycling this route takes me westwards across northern Florida and the Panhandle, mostly following US Highway 90. It's flat and straight riding, its been sunny and clear, but there has been some headwind. READ MORE

I left New Orleans on Easter Sunday - after having watched, I assure you, some of the Easter Vigil from St Chad’s (which was long, two and a half hours !). Remember, I am six hours behind UK time, so was able to watch on late Saturday afternoon my time as the clergy and congregation set to on a marathon vigil. Way too long. READ MORE

I survived Texas. And all it could throw at me. Almost 1000 miles of it. As I write this latest instalment I am in Lordsburg New Mexico having come down from the over 8,000 feet Emory Pass and crossing the Continental Divide to find myself in the plains and deserts of New Mexico.
